D800 was in my opinion a turning point camera for Nikon.  I still have mine and will never get rid of that camera.  True work horse thats just fun to shoot with.

Still have mine and have 0 desire to upgrade. I'm thinking about grabbing a few 1.4G  primes up, 24, 35, and 85 since you can get them pretty cheap now.

A buddy of mine is in the same boat and refuses to move to Nikon mirrorless.  The silver lining to all of this is that he now has most of the best of the best glass for the older mount, and he paid pennies on the dollar compared to what it would have cost just 5 years ago.  

Canon 7D, 15-85mm, 18-55mm, 70-200mm, 100mm Macro, Sigma 120-300mm, Speedlite 430EX II

looking at the 24, 35 and 85 f/1.4g first, may look at tilt shifts after that.
