Sorry, I don't agree with the idea of forgetting about ISO — given
one is at a higher level, Alex.

It all comes down to greater DR in camera AND the power to re-
solve that DR with proper recovery tools eventually — and this is
meant to purposely preserve the best conditions to critical focus.

As always in this quest, the histogram is your best friend.

Light is free… capturing it is not!
