I've enjoyed being able to work remotely for many, many years. But for plenty of other folks, working remotely was a new thing that became a necessity once the pandemic began to rage.
For the uninitiated, this meant a mad scramble to outfit their home office (if they even had one) with the tools they needed to work successfully from home. And now that travel is a possibility for some people in some areas of the world, working on the road can be a thing again.
Whether you're working from home or the road, having a high-quality, easily-portable monitor can make all the difference in the world. I've been testing the Desklab Ultralight portable 4K touchscreen monitor, and it has proven to be a valuable asset to my workflow.
In today's review, I'll share my thoughts about this rockstar of a monitor so you can determine if it's something you can use to improve your workflow as well.
Desklab Ultralight Portable 4K Touchscreen Monitor Specs
Right out of the box, this monitor comes loaded for bear with some really excellent specifications:
Even though this monitor is super lightweight (just one pound!) and ultra-portable, you still get a big, beautiful 15.6-inch IPS screen. Not only that, but you get 4K UHD resolution with 1200:1 contrast for a gorgeous view.
Whether you're editing photos on the go, videoconferencing with a client, or watching Netflix after a long day's work, this monitor will be easy on the eyes with a picture that knocks your socks off. Speaking of being easy on the eyes, this monitor comes equipped with a low blue light filter, low flicker performance, and anti-glare technology to keep eye strain at bay. And with the built-in Hi-Fi speakers, you'll have good sound quality to go with that picture too!
But as impressive as the picture quality is, I think what's even more impressive is the connectivity options the Desklab has stuffed into this monitor.
You get a micro USB port, two USB-C ports, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack, so you can hook up all your needed accessories to get your work done.
In fact, this monitor is compatible with any device, so you can use it with Windows, Mac, iOS, or Android. Have something on your phone you want to see on a larger screen? Just hook it up to the Desklab monitor and away you go!

Desklab Ultralight Portable 4K Touchscreen Monitor Ease of Use
In addition to having a bevy of excellent specs and features, this monitor is incredibly easy to use.
For starters, at just 6mm thin, I can easily slide it into my camera bag for working on the go. Having a monitor with this size of screen that's also so portable is a Godsend when I need to get things done on the road.
And while some tools and accessories make working on the go more difficult, this monitor couldn't be easier to use.
For starters, this monitor is plug-and-play, so there is zero setup. Just attach whatever accessories you need to use with it and you're ready to rock.
Secondly, the touchscreen performance is second-to-none. I've found it to be ultra-responsive whether I'm tapping, pinching, zooming, spinning, scrolling, or dragging. If you're more of a stylus person, this monitor is fully compatible with a range of stylus options.
Something else that makes this monitor so easy to use is the fact that it's compatible with so many devices. As I noted earlier, you can use this monitor with Windows or Mac devices, Android, iOS...you name it! Having that kind of flexibility of use is a huge benefit for getting your work done and done quickly.
I also really appreciate that Desklab integrated a magnetic stand into the monitor. This allows me to have a mobile workstation with a monitor that I don't have to prop up against my camera bag or suitcase. But, if I want the monitor to lay flat, I have that option as well.
Versatility is the Name of the Game with the Desklab Ultralight Portable 4K Touchscreen Monitor
This monitor is lightweight, easily portable, and easy to use.
And while other portable monitors sacrifice functionality and versatility in favor of portability, Desklab has blended them all beautifully well in this monitor.
You aren't losing any of your ability to get work done when you're using this monitor. It's simple to set up, compatible with a wide range of devices, and is ultra-responsive whether you interact with the screen with your fingers or a stylus.
Use it as a larger screen for videoconferencing, for editing photos, for catching up on emails or invoices, as a second screen...you name it. Without a bunch of extra dongles or cables needed, you'll be able to get your work done and do so in a more uncluttered environment as well. What's not to like about that?!
This monitor has been a great addition to my workflow, and I think it would be for yours as well. Head over to Desklab to learn more about this awesome portable monitor!
