What is easiest way to create time lapse of stars going on circle?

8 months 6 days ago #756205 by Ruben Wade
How are creating these time lapse videos where you see the stars slowly circling in the sky?  I know there must be a photo being taken every so often, what is the recommended timing between shots in order to make this happen?

Then how are they turning these photos into a video?

Thank you for your help.

G''day Ruben

It's quite easy once you have the basics done!
The camera needs to be able to shoot continuously and you need some software to stack the images once you have them. Goto "www.Startrails,de" and download their free (donation $) software

1)- Tripod + remote shutter release
2)- set camera to ISO-800 + camera in "M" mode + Shutter to 30 seconds + Aperture to F2,8 to F4
3)- =IF= camera has electronic focusing, focus on something (a street light maybe) about 200 yards away then goto MF mode not AF mode
4)- take test image and fine-focus stars as needed
5)- when happy with focus, set shutter to continuous and remote shutter release to 'on'
6)- listen to click - click - click to make sure all's okay
7) sit inside and read a book until the battery goes flat some 300+ images later

In the computer
8-- select all the images you wish to be stacked
9)- watch it all happen
10- smile !

Hope this helps
